Local Accessibility in the countryside for Elderly and Disabled
This will be an ongoing project and perhaps part of other projects, to look at, discuss, and promote our local countryside for the benefit of Elderly and Disabled people.
Project Breakdown :
- To find local areas in the countryside that are generally used by the public and look also at further areas not so widely used.
- Looking in depth at the wildlife, and natural landscape.
- Recording observations of the groups from their own perspective (taking into account their abilities / disabilities)
- Using the recorded information to assess the pro's and con's of the areas.
- Pro's - Discussing the outcome in terms of possible ways of promoting the area to the Elderly and Disabled.
- Con's - Discussing the outcome in terms of possible changes that could be made in order to make the area more accessible.
- Finding and interacting with the local authorities in order to see if any changes can be made for the better.
- Acting on the findings in conjunction with the local authorities and other relevant parties.
- Design and implement a strategy to help promote the area.
